The Suite for Bass is something I started way back in 2014 while I was teaching at a school in New Delhi. I’d basically written the first couple of movements (and some of the third and fourth) when about a year ago, I revisited the score and reworked it with Damian in mind. The subtitles for each individual movement came later: I initially had some longer captions, but they quickly grew too cumbersome so I opted for a simpler elemental theme that also seemed to fit the overall vibe of each part.
